German newspaper Bild has said that the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig have named their price for Naby Keïta.
The paper says that a figure of €80M (approx £70M) has been placed on any potential transfer of their talented midfielder.
The 22 year old Guinean footballer has been widely rumoured as a potential target for the reds throughout this summer, with Liverpool grappling with Lucas Leiva's advancing years, injuries to Jordan Henderson and uncertainty surrounding the future of Emre Can.
The figure of £70M would clearly break Liverpool's transfer record, but with booming media revenues the figure is not beyond Liverpool's capabilities. It may well be outside LFC's transfer policy but Keita certainly fits the age-policy we have seen in recent years.
It is unclear if this price is therefore a message to Liverpool to keep their hands off - or whether it is a starting price in negotiations.
Keita has spent just the one season in Bundesliga for Leipzig, moving across from sister club Red Bull Salzburg where he spent the previous two seasons in the Austrian league.
While transfer speculation concerning Keita continues, another reds midfielder Emre Can has helped his national side Germany into the Confederations Cup final. They beat Cameroon 3-1 in their semi final yesterday.
