Bournemouth and Liverpool reach agreement on £15M transfer

Liverpool and Bournemouth have agreed a £15M fee for the transfer of 20 year old winger Jordon Ibe.

Despite a new contract just over 12 months ago, the sale of Raheem Sterling and the opportunity to develop further at Anfield - Ibe failed to kick on during the last campaign.

He will now speak to the Cherries to discuss personal terms on a move.

Ibe joined Liverpool from Wycombe at the age of 16 back in 2011 and made a single Premier League appearance for the reds in 2012-13.

Loan deals followed and he had spells in the midlands at both Birmingham and Derby.

In the 2014-15 season he returned from his Derby loan in January as the reds were suffering the effects of Luis Suarez' departure.

His performances in the latter half of that season led to him being rewarded with a new contract to take him through to 2020.

He was the reds 13th most used outfield player last season, with an almost identical appearance record to Christian Benteke, but his ability did not shine on enough occasions and with Sadio Mane signing from Southampton - as well as the return to fitness of Danny Ings, his Liverpool career looked like it was heading to an end.

Both Southampton and Watford had been linked with the player but Bournemouth matched Liverpool's valuation first.
