Pepe Reina is set to sign for Bayern Munich subject to passing a medical.
Liverpool and the German giants have agreed a £2.5M fee and their Chaiman, Karl Heinz Rummenige told their official site:
“The player will come to Munich in the next few days for a medical examination and to sign his contract.
Pepe is eager to join Bayern, even though he understands that Manuel Neuer is our number one keeper."
Pepe Reina fell out of favour with Brendan Rodgers early on his tenure, and spent last season on loan at Napoli with former boss Rafa Benitez.
Rodgers paid £9M for Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet to replace the Spaniard.
Napoli were unable to reach agreement with Liverpool on a permanent deal, with the players rumoured £100k wages believed to be a major sticking point.
Reina made 394 appearances for Liverpool since joining the club a little over 9 years ago, a short while after the reds won the European Cup in Istanbul. He had signed a 6 year contract extension in 2010.
Reina penned a letter to Liverpool fans shortly after his loan deal to Napoli last year.
