Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is undergoing a medical at Napoli according to media reports.
The Spanish keeper is set to link up with former boss Rafa Benitez and former goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero at the Italian club.
Pepe, who turns 31 later this summer, is set to join Napoli on a years loan after the Italian club and Liverpool agreed a deal over the wage split paid by both clubs.
When Liverpool signed Simon Mignolet earlier this summer, Brendan Rodgers was quick to highlight how this would increase competition in the side - however it now seems that Pepe Reina earns too much to compete for the Liverpool goalkeeping spot.
Pepe is rumoured to earn around £110,000 a week, and Napoli are set to pay around 75% of this figure - saving Liverpool around £3.5M in the upcoming year.
Napoli are also holding a medical for Gonzalo Higuain, a player that was rumoured to be a major Arsenal target - suggesting their interest in Luis Suarez is unlikely to dissipate.
