Liverpool's pursuit of Joe Allen of Swansea is entering its final stages as the player is set for talks with Swansea boss Michael Laudrup.
Swansea have rejected two bids from Liverpool - £10M and £12.5M in a determined move to eek out the full £15M activation clause in Joe Allen's contract.
New boss Laudrup met Allen briefly yesterday but will hold further talks with the player tomorrow.
"On Wednesday he will be back and start training and from there we will have talks.
"(Today) I just had a small talk with him but we did not touch the subject right now. I didn't think it was the appropriate moment.
"But of course we will have to sit down and talk what the player wants so we can say something official.
"Otherwise the rumours will go on until August 31, which is not in anyone's interest."
Brendan Rodgers has made Allen one of his main transfer targets for the summer, and with the reds boss keen on a £20M+ sale for both Daniel Agger and Andy Carroll, he believes the funds will arrive to make his move for the 22 year old midfielder.
Allen has been involved with the Great Britain Olympic Football team in recent weeks - stalling progress on a deal but he is keen to move to Liverpool. The Welsh player has 3 years remaining on his contract at the Liberty Stadium.
