Aston Villa’s Ashley Young insists that discussions with the management at Villa Park will wait until the conclusion of the season – a home game against Liverpool on Sunday.
Villa are 5th in the Premier League form table, and will be hoping to end a disappointing season with 3 points against the reds.
The player who turns 26 this summer, operates as either a winger or a makeshift forward for Villa, but his age, ability and the fact he has only 12 months remaining on his contract, have led to him being linked with a potential move to Liverpool.
Manchester United are also keen on adding the player to their ranks.
Speaking to Sky Sports Ashley said:
‘When it comes to the end of the season I will sit down with the manager and the chairman, and we’ll take it from there. There is a lot of speculation in the football world and that is how it’s been for the last few weeks.
‘But I have to concentrate on everything that’s going on at Aston Villa and keep doing well for the club. We have got one massive game coming up on Sunday and we’ll look to get three points.’
Young has been involved in almost a third of all of Villa’s goals in the Premier League this season, scoring 7 and assisting 8 times in 33 matches.
