GONZALEZ TORN HAMSTRING AND ALONSO CONCERN | |||
Liverpool suffered a triple blow of injuries tonight at Anfield. Xabi Alonso was first on the stretcher, eventually unable to shake off a knock and was replaced by Bolo Zenden. However, worse was to follow five minutes later when the stretcher was required once again for Mark Gonzalez. The club Doctor, Mark Waller, confirmed that it appears that Mark Gonzalez has torn a hamstring and the player will now have a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Luis Garcia and Bolo Zenden were the men to replace the injured reds. Then in the second half Jermaine Pennant went down clutching his hamstring. On came the stretcher again. Liverpool will be hoping Alonso and Pennant make quick recoveries, but Gonzalez could be out for a while. |
