ARGENTINIAN PRODIGY WANTS LIVERPOOL NOT MUNICH Argentina's rising teenage star Sergio Aguero has publicly stated he want's to join Liverpool not Bayern Munich after the German club confirmed their interest in Independiente's 17 year old. Last week Bayern confirmed their interest in the 17-year-old Aguero, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or a striker, but the Argentine talent is holding out for a move to English side Liverpool. In fact, Aguero was hoped by Bayern to fill the space left by Michael Ballack who could be joining Chelsea in the summer. "If I had to choose a league then it would be the Premier League," Aguero is quoted as saying in the Munich TZ newspaper. "I have been a Liverpool fan for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream to play there. Only a couple of days earlier the Bayern president was trying to keep him under wraps: 'We must move before the Spanish and Italian clubs join the race, otherwise he will be more expensive,' Rummenigge told Bild newspaper. 'He certainly won't be a bargain but with a young player of such quality you have to be prepared to take a risk,' Rummenigge said. He is expected to command a fee in the region of £10.3 million pounds (15 million euros). Discuss this news item with other fans in our forum |
