CARRA STILL BUZZING OFF DERBY WIN
Carragher (like the rest of us) is still buzzing after the Derby win, and who can blame the lad from Bootle.
"There's no doubt it feels sweeter because of the fact we played so long with only ten men," he says.
"It's a game which should be talked about by Liverpool fans for years to come because when Stevie was sent off, most of us would have happily taken a 0-0 draw.
"I was just thinking we need to get through to half-time and re-organise, but the own goal obviously gave us a great boost and we were excellent in the second half.
"Everton know how we feel today because they did something similar against Blackburn a few weeks ago. I remember them saying at the time how much they owed to their suppporters and it was one of the best displays at Goodison this season.
"Our character got us through. Xabi Alonso and Momo Sissoko were outstanding for us. Momo covers every blade of grass and his last two performances have been superb considering the time he's been out.
"Because everyone took responsibility you'd never have known it was 10 versus 11 out there. Xabi was named man-of-the-match and I don't think anyone was arguing with that."
Carragher also singled out lone striker Peter Crouch for special praise, adding: "If there was one game which underlined why we signed Crouchy, that was it.
"Last season we might have struggled to play that long with only ten men. The forwards we had were more suited to balls over the top, but Crouchy was ideal for the situation we were in because of the way he holds the ball.
"Not only does he relieve the pressure, but he was also involved in creating chances for us, which was shown with Luis Garcia's goal. I thought it was one of his best games for us at a time when we really needed it."
