BENITEZ WANTS FRESH FACES Rafael Benitez wants substantial investment in to Liverpool in order to compete with the champions Chelsea. Liverpool are now expected to offload Djibril Cisse and Fernando Morientes in the summer after both players have failed to produce the goods. The two strikers cost a combined £22 million. It is hoped that these two players perform well in the World Cup to boost their asking prices. Liverpool have been heavily linked with Tottenham's Jermaine Defoe as well as a summer swoop for Michael Owen. Rafa is aware that great effort will be needed to land the required players. "We need to work harder in terms of looking for players. "It is important to strengthen... and buy new players. "We will start working now. The scouting department is working for improving the team."
