Rafa Benitez has pulled off the transfer coup of the century, that's right he has sold Bruno Cheyrou - for actual money!
The French player, dubbed the next Zinedine Zidane by Gerard Houllier when he paid £3.7 million to Lille for him (yes £3.7 million!) in 2002 has spent the last two seasons on loan at Marseille and Bordeaux.
Liverpool have now sold the 28 year old player to Rennes for an undisclosed fee.
The Frenchman actually made 48 appearances for the reds (including substitutions in 2002/03 and 2003/04 - scoring 5 times in the process. His last appearance was in the Liverpool - Manchester United clash when Danny Murphy's goal won the game 1-0 for the reds.
Cheyrou out - Aurelio in + cash from Cheyrou sale. Rafa Benitez may just be the king of the transfers.....
