CISSE DEAL HITS TROUBLE
Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has admitted their proposed move for Djibril Cisse could depend on how long he is out of action for. The Liverpool man is currently recovering from a broken leg he sustained earlier this month in a friendly match against China. The injury seemed to cast a shadow over Marseille's move for the former Auxerre man, but the Stade Velodrome outfit are keen to push through a deal. Liverpool are willing to let Cisse leave having brought in Craig Bellamy and they are considering letting him go on loan initially with a view to a permanent move. Diouf has held talks with Liverpool and Cisse in the last few days and he revealed if the striker is able to return by October Marseille will sign him. "We do our best considering our possibilities to make Cisse come, but it will all depend on the period of his unavailability, considering the talk over a one year loan," said Diouf "October will be the lesser evil. We have reassured Cisse. "We have a reasonable hope because we are in talks with reasonable people." Meanwhile, Diouf is hoping Marseille can improve next season under new manager Albert Emon. "Last season was a transitional one," added Diouf. "This year we have to go forward. "We must get better final ranking than 5th position."
