THE REDS BUSY TRANSFER DAY

This clears the way for Jerzy Dudek to move to possibly Portsmouth in a £1.5 million deal. Djimi Traore is attracting interest from Iain Dowie at Charlton. The player will probably move on a loan followed by an option to purchase. Paul Anderson has also been offered an improved contract - which will involve a step up in to first team training. Reports in Spain indicate that Real Madrid have officially tabled a £20 million bid to Liverpool for Xabi Alonso. Liverpool have rejected this offer.
