CROUCH BINS HIS GIRLFRIEND

Abi Clancy: Now single.

Never fear - we're not turning in to Hello magazine - just an excuse for putting a pretty picture on the site!

Ending a relationship can be a tricky thing.

But it seems that England footballer Peter Crouch is making sure there's no muddle about his connection with wannabe model Abi Clancy...

There is none.

Pete has issued a legal statement saying he and Abi are no longer a couple.

His statement reads: "I have read with dismay various reports about my 'relationship' with Abi Clancy.

"In light of this, I wish to make the situation absolutely clear: Abi and I were in the early stages of a relationship which, for a number of reasons I decided to end, and accordingly informed Abi of my decision."

Peter's statement was issued just minutes before Abi appeared on Channel 4's Richard and Judy yesterday.

Abi has recently been saying that Peter has been standing by her since the publication of old pictures of her appearing to snort cocaine.

She first came to the public eye as part of the Wag brigade (the wives and girlfriends of the England football team) out in Germany.

She's also about to appear in the new series of Britain's Next Top Model, which starts on Living TV on Monday 24th July.

But it seems her role as a footballer's chick is over
