Riise hoping to pull through

John Arne Riise and Jamie Carragher were both first half casualties in the game against Sheffield United today.

X-rays taken at the ground confirmed there was no breaks but with Liverpool preparing to leave for the Ukraine for a crucial Champions League clash, Rafa is already needing to rotate his squad.

Jamie Carragher is definitely out while John Arne Riise is extremely doubtful. A decision on the Norwegian's availability will be made tomorrow morning.

Daniel Agger or Gabriel Paletta will be expected to battle it out to replace Jamie Carragher, with Fabio Aurelio looking the most likely candidate to take over Riise's left back role.
