LIVERPOOL SHIRTS CHAOS

The new kit has proved massively popular

Liverpool Football Club have been struggling to cope with enormous demand for the new club home shirt which was officially released on Thursday.

We have had a number of emails from people detailing the chaos which has ensued with principally online sales.

On Thursday the official club shop was swamped with people suffering with one hour queues to get in to the shop, then another few hours awaiting kit purchasing and name and number printing.

When the kits were first available to pre-order the official Liverpool FC website initially crashed under heavy demand.

As kits began to arrive at the end of this week, a number of people have received two shirts after paying for one (we have received 12 emails already just with this problem), and others are still awaiting their kits. We do not know the impact on Liverpool's revenue or how widespread the problem is.

In no way are we suggesting that something is strategically wrong with the club - in fact such massive enthusiasm from Liverpool fans to purchase kits is to be welcomed and expected of a club of our stature.

However it appears to go hand in hand with Liverpool's farcical ticketing systems. In some aspects Europe's third most succesful football club seem about 10 years behind many others.

For god's sake Rick Parry et al, learn the commercial lessons from this.

P.S. Did anyone buy a shirt with Traore on the back ;-)

I pre-orderd a Fowler shirt, got home and opened it up, but no i have a Gonzalez shirt. Did some one get carried away because he scored on Wednesday? Will they pay my postage costs in returning this product for the correct 1 i ordered. Matt, Watford
I agree that the commercial side of the club appears to be light years behind others. A grip really needs to be taken with this regard and Rick Parry needs to get it sorted!! It follows on from the Champions League shirts fiasco! The ticketing situation is laughable, despite all the family having fan cards it is even more difficult/almost impossible to obtain tickets!!

To prevent a 2 hour queue in a very hot shop,it would have been a good idea to pre-print a large number of the most popular shirts in various sizes. As due to demand I am sure they would have sold and reduced the queues and the chaos that I and fellow supporters suffered. Paula, Kinmel Bay
I ordered 2 home mini kits for my 2 boys. They arrived on the day as promised...I have since had a letter direct from adidas stating there is a problem with the mini kits and asking for them to be returned and replaced - but the replacments will not be available until late September.

I o rdered an adult gerrard shirt, got that okay, but was billed twice for it, and also ordered a junior and infant kit, to which they have no record of the order but have taken the money for, someone needs to act now.

I live in the U.S. and ordered my shirt, Large #9 FOWLER with the patches, matching shorts w/#9 and of course the socks along with a 12month old replica for my son. I order early to be able to receive the scarf, bag, etc. It is now the eve of the Community Sheild and I have not received anything. When I go to check my order, a window pops up saying that the tracking service will be coming soon. At least get the tracking sevice up so we could have a clue.
