OWEN AVOIDS NATIONAL AND REDS FANS Michael Owen didn't go to the Grand National at Aintree this weekend to avoid Liverpool fans. Speaking before the big race he said: "I'm looking forward to the Grand National this weekend, but I won’t actually be going to Aintree. When I go, I tend to get loads of Liverpool fans coming up to me saying: "Why did you do this? Why did you do that? You shouldn’t have left … " and so on and so on. I could hide away in a private box, I suppose, but if I'm going to do that I might as well hide away in my living room and watch it on the telly." No Michael, I'm glad you left. Because then we won the Champions League. And we've got God now. You moved to Newcastle for 'the best money of your career'. Robbie would have signed back for us for free.
