CHELSEA GARBAGE It's always interesting finding out what happens in the other side of the footballing world. Chelsea are the antithesis of Liverpool. Liverpool represents the solid core of football, the game of the working class, the club whose massive worldwide fan support combined with local support has produced atmospheres which have changed games, and helped the players at times when inferiority would normally have shone through. Chelsea should know all about that. 1-0. But I heard one of their supporters use the term 'Mickey mouse' about our club when talking about whether Rafa would leave us. Chelsea may have a dodgy Russian billionaire bankrolling their arrogant manager who coaches their mercenary players, but if Chelsea fans believe the club is interested in them and they are really part of 'something' then they are in my opinion mistaken. A Premiership title does not equate to anything like the cascade of success Liverpool have had in varying degrees of A+ to A- over nearly 50 years. 50 years! Like a great banner writer of the Kop once said, 'Form is temporary. Class is permanant.' And I hope Chelsea thoroughly enjoy their trip to Anfield next week. They will again experience a true football atmosphere. But they can't catch their special Chelsea train to Liverpool. It's been cancelled due to lack of interest. |
