RAFA REFLECTS ON EXCELLENT RUN

Rafa Benitez reflected on Liverpool's fourth succesive Premiership win, a feat not achieved in many seasons for us, and spoke of his continued pleasure at Crouch's performance, even though the big man has yet to bag a goal.

"As a manager, we must be delighted with the situation," claimed Benitez. "He [Crouch] is playing well, we are winning games and we have had another clean sheet and scored another goal.

"If he works as he is working now and the players around him can regain the ball and continue playing, then he is doing his job.

"We decided to sign Peter, not thinking he would score 50 goals, but thinking about the other things he can give to us, and he has given us them.

"I said to him before the game, forget the goals, think about playing as well as you did last game and you will score - whether it's today or tomorrow. He is playing really well for me and he's a key player.

"The most important thing is the result. For me, the team worked really hard in the first half and played really well in the second half. We created a lot of problems and had control of the game. At the moment, we have the right balance. We're defending much better than last season. Home and away we continue attacking and creating chances.

"The problem is going to be keeping that intensity up all season but at the moment I like to think about the next game, not too far in the future. It's the most consistent we've been in the past season and a half. I was working on my ideas last season and it was really difficult to keep the team winning games and keeping clean sheets. Now, we're more consistent. It's difficult to create chances but we always have some opportunities."
