Peter Crouch has joined the reds following a succesful medical at Anfield and has spoken to the official website.
He said:
"I obviously know Jamie very well from Southampton and we spoke a lot about Liverpool. We had a number of chats and he told me I had to go and join the best club in the world.
"He told me all about the club, the facilities, the stadium and the fans. Although his dad is the manager at Southampton, he knew what was best for me. He said the fans here are the best in the country and that I'd love to have them on my side.
"To be honest it wasn't a difficult decision for me to make. I know about Liverpool's history and about the Liverpool supporters and it's an honour to be here.
"I'm really excited about this move. I think I will bring something different to the team. I'm obviously tall but I also think I'm decent on the ground as well as in the air. Hopefully I'll get a good run in the side and prove it to the supporters.
"I'm confident I can do well at this level. I know there's a lot of quality players already at the club and competition for places is going to be very fierce, but I have confidence in myself to score goals for Liverpool.
"I can't wait to get my Liverpool career up and running now. I spoke to the manager briefly this morning and he just told me he was glad I had signed. He said we'd have a proper chat over in Switzerland.
"There's a game on Saturday night and I'd love to play some part in that. I just want to wear the famous red shirt and start scoring goals for Liverpool."
