HESKEY: HOULLIER HAD GONE 'STALE' Ex reds striker Emile Heskey believes the Liverpool board made the right decision and that Houllier was not the man to take the reds to the Championship. The Birmingham City man said, "He is a good manager but I think he went a bit stale. "Liverpool need to be challenging the top two. He has taken them far but he had taken them as far as he could." However, Heskey is sympathetic towards his former boss. "It was a sad day, given what he had done at the club," conceded Heskey. "No-one can say that he has not done a good job as he has won trophies there." "The next manager has a tough job on his hands but there are already some quality players there and there should be some money to sign some others this summer," he added.
