Match winner Bruno Cheyrou says Liverpool fully deserved their victory over Newcastle in last night's exciting FA Cup fourth round tie.

The Frenchman continued his recent prolific goalscoring form by netting in the 1st and 61st minute as the Reds recorded an impressive 2-1 victory over the Geordies.

"It was a great night and a good win," said the two-goal hero afterwards.

"I thought we'd done the most difficult thing by getting the first goal but they equalised soon after and we had to keep going. We played better in the second half and deserved to win."
