Sami Hyypia was injured in the first minute of today's clash against Bolton after being elbowed by Bolton's Kevin Davies.

The Finnish defender broke his nose in the collision, however the player is expected to be out for weeks rather than months.

It almost certainly will end Everton's interest in Djimi Traore who came on to replace Hyypia, and appears to have moved up the pecking order ahead of Stephane Henchoz.
