Antonio Nunez, who was injured in training an hour after his introductory press conference has sustained medial ligament damage to his left knee, scans revealed yesterday afternoon.

Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: "We expect the player will be out of action for four weeks."

It is a blow for Nunez and Liverpool, and Nunez will now have to work hard to be in consideration come the Liverpool v Man United game.
