Steven Gerrard looked sombre in the post match interview and expressed his obvious disappointment at the departure of Danny Murphy.

"I'm obviously disappointed personally to see Danny leave. It's sad to see, he was good for the club," said Gerrard.

He added: "I'm not sure what's happening with Michael. But as far as I'm concerned he's still a Liverpool player."
