Danny Murphy has finally left Anfield in a move to Charlton Athletic. He has signed a four year contract.

The fee is estimated to be in the region of £2.5 million.

Almost immediately Liverpool swung in to action, and made a bid for Real Sociedad's Xabi Alonso.
