OWEN RUMOURS CONTINUE Will he or won't he? It's the question on all Liverpool fans lips. Rafael Benitez didn't answer the question either: "I have nothing to say about his contract. Michael has travelled and I can use him if I want," said Benitez "I can pick him and if he plays, it is because he is the right player for the game. If he does not, it is because another player is considered better, nothing more than that." So the wait continues. Talk is of a £25 million pound deal, including £10 million cash and either Fernando Morientes, or Samuel Eto' - a player that Real Madrid own an £8 million stake in. According to reports, Owen's agent and his father have flown out to Madrid to discuss contract talks. I personally have had enough of the whole saga, either he signs a new contract or we sell him. As Shanks said 'No one player is bigger than the club.' In our opinion, Michael Owen is replaceable. |
