Danny Murphy met officials from Tottenham Hotspur earlier today but refused to move to Spurs as he would not be guaranteed regular first team football.

At Tottenham, Santini as yet has little control over transfer policy due to the plc nature of the club and was therefore unable to be given confirmation by the money men that he would be a first team regular.

Tottenham have just officially announced that transfer negotiations are over.

It remains to be seen if Everton or Charlton snap up the player whom Benitez has decided against taking to Austria for tomorrow's crucial clash.
