Liverpool have confirmed that Carl Medjani has joined French outfit Lorient on a season long loan.

The talented French defender has failed to make it in to the first team, and even though we personally think he could be a man for the future it seems that Benitez doesn't think that will be this season.

Medjani's loan agreement at Lorient runs from August 1 2004 to June 30 2005.
