GERRARD READY TO SIGN NEW CONTRACT LIVERPOOL star Steven Gerrard is set to commit his immediate future to the Anfield club by signing a new deal. The midfield general still has two years left on his existing contract but boss Gerard Houllier is keen to tie him down. And the Frenchman won't find Gerrard (right) a hard customer to deal with as he loves life more than ever on Merseyside. The 23-year-old said: "I'm sure I'll sign a new contract fairly soon. The club want me and I want them so it'll be sorted out. "I've two years left on my contract and that's when you look at your future." There's no doubt Gerrard has the ability to make it at the highest level and admits playing abroad is a challenge he could take on in the future. Steven said: "It's something I may consider at some point but at the moment I'm enjoying my football at Liverpool."
