KEWELL SIGNS IN AT BARGAIN PRICE Liverpool have signed Harry Kewell from Leeds at a knockdown £5 million - down from £7 million. Of that £5 million, Leeds United plc have had to pay £2 million to the player - effectively receiving only £3 million. The joys of being a plc eh?? Anyway, Harry will be unveiled tomorrow along with Pongolle, Le Tallace and Steve Finnan. Liverpool have spent £9 million this summer on transfer fees. Harry Kewell has already been named by the club as wearing the famed number 7 shirt - Vladimir Smicer will switch to number 11. Here at Anfield Online we are exceptionally pleased that Gerard
Houllier appears to understand one of Liverpool's major weaknesses
and bought a true flair player - let's hope he doesn't play him
in goal! |
