ROVERS BOSS CONFIRMS BABBEL INTEREST

Graeme Souness openly admitted his interested in Liverpool defender Markus Babbel but revealed a deal has not yet been struck.

Speaking after Rovers' 5-1 thrashing of Wolves yesterday, the Blackburn boss said: "He is a player I greatly admire. I would like to bring him to the football club but there are a great deal of negotiations to be done."

Gerad Houllier yesterday stated he would not stand in Babbel's way should he opt to join the Ewood Park Club.
