Liverpool threw away a 2 goal lead in the final 13 minutes to hand victory to QPR, in a game that the reds should have put to bed in the first half.

The reds were made to pay for poor finishing, seeing a handful of chances go begging in the first half – before going on to gift QPR three easy goals at the end of the game. The result ends any faint hopes Liverpool may have had of finishing 4th and moves QPR out of the relegation zone.
Luis Suarez and Stewart Downing were both guility of missing gilt edged chances as the reds swarmed over QPR in the opening 25 minutes. A Steven Gerrard corner found Dirk Kuyt, but he too was unable to get the ball past Paddy Kenny in the QPR goal.
As the reds failed to do anything with their 11 corners in this spell – belief drained from the reds – and QPR got a foothold back in the game with Djibril Cisse going closest.
In the second half the reds struck first – a Downing shot was cleared off the line, but Sebastian Coates (who had come on to replace the injured Martin Kelly) produced a strikers goal – a flying scissor kick to open his LFC account.
In the 72nd minute, after the ball had hit the post and been saved, Kuyt was on hand to poach the reds second. Game over? Erm.. no.
From a QPR corner, Derry got his head on the ball and put it past Reina. Then 9 minutes later a cross from the other side of the pitch saw Cisse rise highest and head in the equaliser.
Then in injury time, Enrique missed the clearance and Jamie Mackie nipped in to score an unlikely winner.
Putting aside the cup games, the reds have lost 4 of their last 5 games. 12 points gone – that would now have seen us in 3rd place. As it is – Liverpool are 3 points above Swansea in 7th.
