QPR 0-3 Liverpool
Liverpool saw out 2012 with an easy victory over relegation candidates QPR to end the year in a miserly 9th place.
Brendan Rodgers wasn't at Loftus Road, sidelined under orders by the club doctor due to a virus, but the reds appeared to revel in his absence.
Luis Suarez struck early, but unlike at Stoke earlier in the week, the reds managed to build on the early goal to seal all three points in the opening half hour.
Joe Allen and Jordan Henderson both started - with Jonjo Shelvey and Lucas Leiva missing out, and it was one way traffic for the reds.
Suarez was on form and his trickery earned him the first goal of the game in the 10th minute. Six minutes later he scored his second, a cross cleared back towards him to slot home.
Just before the half hour Daniel Agger fired in a trademark header from a Steven Gerrard cross.
The second half was a little more even, although the reds had clearly taken their foot of the gas. QPR never really threatened, highlighting the size of the task facing Harry Redknapp.
In the end Liverpool, managed by Colin Pascoe and Mike Marsh, ran out easy winners. The dismal defeats to Aston Villa and Stoke have damaged what should have been a good December, but the reds can go in to the New Year with 3 points behind them.
The January transfer window awaits and Liverpool fans will be watching FSG's moves closely.
