Liverpool played out their penultimate pre-season friendly, and the final game of the ICC trophy that began in the United States, with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Barcelona at Wembley.
The match was watched by almost 90,000 people - the second highest attendance at England's national stadium since it was reopened 9 years ago.
Former player Luis Suarez faced Liverpool for the first time since he left the club two summers ago alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, with his new blonde haircut.
For Liverpool this was an opportunity to give many of their players longer than the traditional 45 minutes of pre-season. James Milner captained the side, from his new role at left back, with Ragnar Klavan once again partnering Dejan Lovren in central defence.
Mane, Firmino and Coutinho were to provide the attacking impetus.
There was a solid opening by both sides, although the game exploded into life in the 15th minute when the Klopp philosophy kicked in.
Adam Lallana pushed on to win the ball before powering forward. He played a neat one two before switching angles and playing in Sadio Mane. The new Liverpool signing had yet to score in the reds pre-season. What a time to signal your intent. He fired past Ter Stegen.
Around the half hour mark the reds dealt with a mini-spell of pressure from Barcelona. It was a little bit desperate at times but Liverpool held firm.
At half time there were just three substitutions. And within 3 minutes the reds were 3-0 up.
Former red Javier Mascherano bundled in an own goal after a dangerous cross from Sadio Mane in the 47th minute, and within 60 seconds Divock Origi had powered away from the Barcelona players to fire home the reds third goal and effectively end the contest.
There were a few more changes after the 70th minute for Liverpool - and Luis Suarez departed for Barcelona to a standing ovation from the Liverpool supporters inside the stadium.
In the final moments of the game Dejan Lovren was subbed off after holding his hamstring - but at the other end Marko Grujic added another goal to his pre-season tally - a wonderful looping header to make it 4-0.
So the reds now travel to Mainz where they face the German side in less than 24 hours.
