Liverpool v Roma Champions League press conference – Klopp hails the underdogs

The Liverpool manager has delivered his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow night's Champions League Semi Final 1st Leg.

Roma visit Anfield ahead of the return leg next Wednesday evening.

Klopp was first asked about Mo Salah's Player of the Year victory at last night's PFA awards.

He will be back today and then I can tell him what I want to tell him face to face.  It's great but the season is not finished yet.  There are a lot of things to come but I'm sure it's a nice boost for him.

After the pre-match shenanigans against Man City in the last round, Klopp was asked about the atmosphere for tomorrow night's game.

Klopp said:

Inside the stadium - do it again and better.  Outside the stadium please show the respect we have to show.  This is such an outstanding football club known for fantastic atmospheres all over the world.  We don't need to throw whatever at a bus at the opponent.  If we can create an atmosphere do it - they are only opponents on the pitch.

We can show how wonderful Liverpool are in 20 minutes before the game and then the whole world knows it.

Klopp was asked about the two teams being underdogs.

I can understand that most people thought this semi-final would be Manchester City and Barcelona.  But it's not - because it's football.  We both made it possible to be here and both teams deserve it.

After a brief pause in proceedings club captain Jordan Henderson appeared as the LFC player to face the cameras.
