The reds have enjoyed their first full pre-season under the German manager who arrived at the beginning of last October.
There is nothing positive about not being involved in European football apart from having more time. We must use this time.
He was asked about the arrival of the new managers to the league - Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola.
'It's exciting for everybody having these big names in the league - but if they all have only one target winning the league then there can only ever be one who is lucky. What does that mean for the others - they failed? They still did a good job?'
He was asked about potential transfers out - Mario Balotelli and Christian Benteke remain at Liverpool despite appearing to be out of favour.
'What I said before. Benteke and Balotelli - all the other strikers. They are all really good strikers. They have improved in a lot of parts. But for us having 6 strikers is a little too comfortable (too many). But if anyone thinks because we have more than one strikers we will give presents (them away cheaply) to other clubs then that's the biggest misunderstanding in World Football. We will not do this. 100%.
'That's all I can say about that.
On the Arsenal clash itself.
'I have no idea what Arsenal will do (with their defensive injury problems). Defence problems only play a role when the other team is really strong. We have not thought about their issues. They have a lot of wonderful attacking players. We watched their style of play in pre-season. They caused us a lot of problems in that 3-3 (last season). That's what we think about.
On Sturridge and Milner's injuries.
'Millie is not too serious but we will have to wait. It is still possible but we're not sure yet.
