Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino has signed a new 5 year deal at the club.
The 26 year old joined Liverpool in the summer of 2015 and his new deal will take him through to the summer of 2023.
The announcement comes after recently hitting his 100th league appearance for Liverpool (140 games in all competitions) and he has scored 50 goals for the club.
This season has represented his most prolific since joining Liverpool with 27 goals in 50 appearances. He is the joint second top scorer in the Champions League this season with 10 goals.
The player told LFC that:
“It was an easy decision. The club have taken me in in an incredible way and I’ve grown a lot here with my work with the support of the whole team. I am very, very happy here.
“Everything fits in the best possible way. My teammates are fantastic and I am very grateful to be able to play with them at this club.
“I love to play for Liverpool FC. The fans are excellent and fantastic in how they support us all the way. They support us throughout the games and the work they do during the match is beautiful.”
Firmino retains the squad number 9 at Anfield.
