Liverpool FC are in talks to be involved in the four-team Audi Cup in Germany ahead of the 2016-17 season.
According to the Echo the reds could be involved in this years tournament, due to be played on the 1st and 2nd August. Four teams battle it out every 2 years for the sizeable trophy - the competition was founded on the 100th anniversary of the German car maker.
All the games are played at Munich's Allianz Arena which has recently been extended to allow in 75,000 spectators.
Two years ago Bayern Munich hosted Real Madrid, AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur. Bayern Munich's home advantage has helped them win 3 of the 4 competitions, Barcelona sealing victory in the event back in 2011.
Existing plans
The games could fit in well with LFC's existing pre-season plans.
The reds are planning a mini tour of the far east - taking in Shanghai and Hong Kong while taking part in the Premier League's Asia trophy in July. They will then enjoy a training camp in Klopp's native Germany as the countdown to the season continues.
The Premier League season gets underway on August 12th 2017 and is slightly more compacted next season - the season ends a week earlier due to the 2018 World Cup.
