Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp brought the curtain down on the 2016-17 season with his final press conference of the campaign.
The reds were made to wait until the 46th minute before the nerves were loosened in a final day shoot out to decide the top four places of the Premier League.
Arsenal had left themselves too much to do and despite rolling Everton away with just 10 men they couldn't overhaul the reds who collected 27 of the final 36 points of the season, who turned more ruthless once winter had passed.
'I'm not sure if (finishing in a Champions League spot) was the target for all Liverpool supporters but it was second best.
'We deserve this position. 76 points is an outstanding number. What happened in January we all know - I'm not sure if agree why but we had injuries and too many games then. After that we got back on track. We learned a lot in this year about ourselves.
'At the end of the season you are tired but, don't tell the players, but I could start tomorrow because I'm already looking forward to it and what we can do.
'I'm really proud of the boys.'
