Phil Coutinho could be set to return to the Liverpool squad for Wednesday night's League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg.
The talented Brazilian attacker's return will be welcomed, coinciding with Sadio Mane's departure to the African Cup of Nations.
Coutinho was injured during the 2-0 league victory over Sunderland back at the end of November in an injury that initially many feared to be a broken ankle. It turned out to be ligament damage which initially suggested the player could be out for almost 2 months.
However he returned to training on Saturday, ahead of schedule, and Klopp speaking in his pre-match press conference today said he would be involved at this week's game at St Mary's stadium.
I think Phil is fit enough to be a big part of the squad. It means there could be minutes. It depends on the game.
It's been six or seven weeks. It's long. But no final decision has been made until now.
It is his third complete session with the team, tomorrow will be the fourth. It is not that many, but enough to be in the squad.
Of Liverpool's attacking quartet including Mane, Lallana and Firmino it is Coutinho who has been the most lethal in front of goal - scoring a goal for every 174 minutes played this season. He has also chipped in with 7 assists - joint level with Adam Lallana.
