Lallana scores for England but Liverpool star suffers potential injury

Liverpool's Adam Lallana fizzed from the start of England's 2-2 draw with Spain in tonight's international friendly - but he was taken off after 27 minutes after a challenge from Thiago Alcantara.

After receiving medical treatment on the pitch he was substituted by Theo Walcott and headed straight down the tunnel.

The reds midfielder had converted a penalty past Pepe Reina, after the former Liverpool keeper brought down Jamie Vardy.

Liverpool face Adam's former club Southampton away on Saturday and Jurgen Klopp will now have a nervous wait before the players return to Melwood for training tomorrow.

Frustratingly, despite Gareth Southgate making 6 substitutions in the game, he elected to keep Nathaniel Clyne and Jordan Henderson on for the whole game - which stretched into 6 minutes of injury time.

Spain scored twice in the final 7 minutes to draw the game.  Another former Liverpool player - Iago Aspas - scoring in the 89th minute for the visitors to Wembley.

Meanwhile in Brazil, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino will be involved in a fixture against Peru in the early hours of Wednesday.

LFC are bringing the players back on a private jet to try and assess their fitness in a training session before the reds travel to Southampton on Friday.
