Homeward bound Phil Coutinho backs Klopp

Philippe Coutinho who has been subject to some interest from PSG in recent weeks has spoken of his belief in the Liverpool manager.

Coutinho's Brazil were cruelly knocked out of the Copa America Centenario, currently being held in the United States, last night.  Their group stage exit was sealed when Peru scored a late winner with what appeared to be the hand of Raul Ruidiaz.

The Liverpool player was asked about his Liverpool future:

“I am grateful for everything Liverpool has done for me.

“Am I happy there working under Klopp? It’s clear, he’s great.”

Coutinho did grab a hat-trick in a 7-1 demolition of Haiti but it was to be Brazil's only win in the tournament, and now Ecuador and Peru advance to the knockout stages.

The player joined Liverpool in January 2013 costing £8.5M from Inter Milan.  He has played 148 times for the reds, scoring 28 goals - last season was his most productive in terms of goalscoring with 12 goals in 43 appearances.
