Liverpool have announced a pre-season opener against Preston North End at Deepdale.
The match will take place on Saturday 19th July, six days after the World Cup final.
With the group stages of the World Cup ending on the 26th June it is highly unlikely there will be any Liverpool players involved who have participated in the FIFA tournament.
It will however be the reds final appearance before jetting off to the United States for the overseas tour - with the first game taking place on the 23rd at Fenway Park.
The reds are no strangers to the former footballing home of Bill Shankly.
After a 2-0 FA Cup win there in 2009, the reds also kicked off last season's pre-season at Deepdale - a 4-0 win was recorded that day by the Liverpool side which featured a number of debutants including Simon Mignolet.
