Liverpool have cancelled the contract of goalkeeper Alexander Doni.
The player had a contract until this summer, but has been back in Brazil since the start of the season.
Liverpool are believed to have reached a financial agreement with the player to terminate his contract a few months early and allow him to move to Botafogo on a free transfer.
Earlier last week Doni was quoted as saying that 'the truth will come out' regarding why the club let him return to Brazil, and was scornful of the reasons that the club were putting forward for his departure.
Doni played a mere 4 times for Liverpool since arriving from Roma on 18 months ago. The player was technically a free transfer as Roma effectively paid him around £1M to clear his contract.
