Brendan Rodgers dismissed Newcastle United's offer of a loan deal for Andy Carroll as a 'liberty' insisting he would not be going there on loan.
Newcastle made another offer to loan their former number 9 earlier this week, adding in a potential £12M fee if they wanted to buy at the end of the season.
But the reds manager insisted he would be a 'nutcase' if he allowed Carroll to go on loan back to Newcastle.
He said:
"To even consider wanting to take him on loan is a liberty.
"Absolutely no chance - and certainly not Newcastle. Newcastle got £35m for this player last year.
"I need a minimum of three strikers. Once the window shuts, that is it until January. I have got Luis Suarez, Fabio Borini and Andy Carroll.
"I would need to be a nutcase to even consider letting Andy Carroll go at this moment."
Earlier this week we posted an article highlighting Liverpool's lack of forward options and this statement from Rodgers suggests that he doesn't expect to bring another striker in before the transfer window shuts.
