Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is likely to return to the Liverpool team after missing out in the midweek victory over Wolves.
Gerrard was substituted off during the Man Utd victory after tiring – the player having had a hectic spell in the team since his long awaited return from injury at the end of December.
Dalglish said today:
“Steven will be back in the squad for Monday, so we’re looking quite healthy at the moment – but there are three days of training to go, so more often than not you can pick up something in that.
“But at the moment we look as though we’re okay and have players to choose from. That gives us a problem, but it’s a pleasant one.”
Luis Suarez could also be in contention for a place in the starting XI. The Uruguayan has been banned for 8 games following the FA’s decision to side with Man Utd’s Patrice Evra. The player has been a constant supporter of the team from the stands during that period.
Liverpool will be hoping to end what has been a miserable set of results against Spurs. The reds last victory was 2 years ago – with Spurs having won the last 3 matches – including a 2-0 victory at Anfield at the end of last season.
