LFC Reserves are attempting to steal the thunder of the LFC Under 18 side after heading to the top of the Reserve League.
The reds beat Blackburn Rovers 2-0 in the Premier League Reserve North fixture last night.
A 25th minute goal from Suso, assist by Bruna, put the reds in command in the first half in which Liverpool dominated.
The second half saw Blackburn get involved a little more in the game, although with 7 minutes remaining Liverpool made sure of victory when Dani Pacheco scored a fine individual goal.
Apart from the two Spaniards, Tom Ince had a good game and was unlucky not to find the scoresheet. It will be interesting to see how his long term future at Liverpool pans out after well acknowledged interference from his father Paul.
Liverpool also welcomed back Andre Wisdom after injury and reserve team coach John McMahon had this to say following the game:
“I thought we were terrific in the first half.
“We played some good football and we were bright, inventive and it was pleasing to see Andre Wisdom back in the fold and playing 90 minutes after injury.
“Andre has got a great presence about him. He is six foot plus, he is a good talker and organiser and he leads by example. It is a real boost to have him back.”
Liverpool are two points ahead of 2nd place Sunderland, and also have two games in hand over their North East rivals.
