Liverpool’s players will return unscathed, although a little tired, after the midweek international games.
Denmark 1-2 England
Christian Poulsen and Daniel Agger played the whole game. Agger scoring the opener on 8 minutes, before Bent levelled two minutes later for England. Glen Johnson also played for the full game. (Highlights)
Argentina 2-1 Portugal
Raul Meireles played the full 90 minutes and put in an impressive performance, facing up against Javier Mascherano, the former reds midfielder and now bench-warmer at Barcelona. (Watch the goals)
Netherlands 3-1 Austria
Dirk Kuyt played for 75 minutes, scoring the 3rd Dutch goal from the penalty spot. He had to retake his penalty after 8 of the footballers seemingly forgot that you need to be out side the penalty area and circle (10 yards away) from the penalty spot! (Watch the goals)
Scotland 3-0 Northern Ireland
Danny Wilson came on for the final 2 minutes.
France 1-0 Brazil
Lucas Leiva played the full game as Brazil went down to 10 men in their defeat. (Watch Highlights)
Spain 1-0 Columbia
Pepe Reina was an unused substitute.
England U19 0-1 Germany U19
Conor Coady captained the side and played the full game. Thomas Ince (80 mins) and Jack Robinson (75 mins) played for most of the game.
Liverpool picked up no major injuries in mid-week, although the Liverpool medical staff will be keen to identify any fitness issues over the next 24 hours, before they submit a report to Dalglish for Liverpool’s clash against Wigan on Saturday.
I read on a site that Martin Skrtel and Jonjo Shelvey are injured at the minute, not sustained during any games rite enuf.
Come on lads, lets get into Wigan on Sat, I’d rather see the Reds win a throw in than any international game result YNWA
