Kenny Dalglish today delivered his pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow night’s crunch decider in the Europa League against Sparta Prague.
Images of Carroll training alongside the players did lead reporters to question whether he may be involved in the game.
Dalglish however insisted:
“He is close to full training. I don’t think he’s quite ready for a game yet.
“Andy’s progress has been exactly what we’d anticipated.
“Andy has been involved with the lads for parts of the training but there’s no need to get carried away, there’s not going to be a surprise announcement that he’s playing tomorrow night.
“He has done very well. The first day he signed we said we would be patient with him and we will continue to do that. For us, he has done everything that has been asked of him.”
Gerrard a doubt
Dalglish is also undecided on whether to start Steven Gerrard, or leave him for Sunday’s Premier League clash.
“He is that close that we might have a decision to make, whether we take a chance or leave him.
“We’ve not to come to that stage yet, but that could be what we’re faced with tomorrow.”
Agree with above, pointless risking Carroll or Stevie G for a whole game, especially the way meireles is playing !
come on lads YNWA
Start him on the bench Kenny, you will only let him play when we are in hot water, lots of luck LFC
